BUDDING photographers are invited to use pictures of their prized pets to help raise money for charity.

The High Wycombe branch of Cats Protection is hoping to build on last year's successful open day by marking this year's event with a photo competition.

Contributions to the competition will be displayed in an exhibition entitled Images of the Cat.

The lucky winner will receive a special trophy and have their picture displayed on the front cover of Paws for Thought for a year.

Last year's open day saw 19 cats being homed as a result of the £3,000 raised. A whopping 500 tins of cat food were also donated to the shelter on the day.

Photographers are encouraged to send in pictures under any of the following three categories: kittens, cats and amusing.

Entry fee is 50p and all entries must be sent to Trelystan, Wycombe Road, Stokenchurch, Bucks HP14 3RP by August 31.

Include your contact details, the category you wish to enter, together with a SAE to ensure the safe return of your pictures.

The open day is on September 9 between 1pm and 5pm at Elephant Walk House, Hammersley Lane, Loudwater.
