CONVICTED paedophile Alan Foster attended the wedding celebrations of film star mum Kate Winslet.

The Free Press can exclusively reveal that Foster, who has been put behind bars for his sex crimes against three schoolgirls, was invited to the high-society event by Kate's closest aides.

The 48-year-old from Cherry Tree Road, Beaconsfield, had been hired to put on a firework display for the 25-year-old Titanic star, who knew nothing about his penchant for children.

New mum Kate, who had her daughter, Mia, in October would be horrified to know that the man who chatted to her and mingled with celebrity families was in fact a sick paedophile.

Fireworks expert Foster told at the time about how pleased he was to be invited to the wedding of Kate and film director Jim Threapleton in 1998.

Foster pleaded guilty to two indecent assaults on one eight-year-old girl, one indecent assault on a second eight-year-old girl and six offences against a girl aged between 9 and 14.

His crimes were revealed when police swooped on an address in London and discovered he had video-taped the sex acts he carried out on his victims.

Judge Christopher Tyrer, who sentenced Foster to seven years at Aylesbury Crown Court last Friday described him as a "dangerous paedophile" who had no thought for his victims.

The 35-year-old mother of one of the girls subjected to the abuse had known Foster for 14 years and she said he had won the trust of the family.

She said: "He is a sick twisted pervert, we trusted him and cannot believe what he has done.

"I remember him doing Kate's wedding and he would brag about it but now I think 'if she only knew what he had done'."

Foster's former business partner in SpaceAge Fireworks, who did not want to be named as he did not want to be associated with him, said: "What he has done is disgusting and I want nothing to do with him."
