COMMUTERS were thrown into rush-hour chaos yesterday morning as trains came to a standstill.
Hundreds of people lined the platforms at Chalfont and Latimer Station, in Little Chalfont and Amersham-on-the-Hill Station, in Amersham, as a point failure occurred from 6am.
It left passengers waiting for two and a half hours until it came back on again at 8.32am. The Metropolitan Line and Chiltern Railways were affected.
A spokesman for Chiltern Railways said it was chaos at the station.
He said: "There were hundreds of people waiting around. I would imagine they would have been about half an hour late for work."
