AMERSHAM Music Centre is holding an open morning on Saturday, June 9, at Amersham School, Stanley Hill, from 8.30am to 1pm, and is for children aged from eight to13 years. Refreshments will be available.

COLESHILL Village fete is being held on Saturday, June 9, from 2pm to 5pm. Among the attractions are owls and birds of prey, a shooting gallery, bouncy castle, Mr Magic, a country dancing display, a jazz band, barbecue, and a race round the common for under-tens and over-40s, the prize being £10 and a trophy.

ON Sunday, June 10, Amersham Crematorium is holding an open day from 10am to 5pm, when the new Chapel of Remembrance will be open, and plans for a second funeral chapel will be available. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions during the day.

ENTRY forms are now available for the Amersham Festival of Arts 2001 which is being held at the Market Hall, Old Amersham, from July 28 until August 5. The closing date for entries is Friday, July 20.

This year all who enter are being allowed four works of art instead of three. All money raised from the festival goes to local charities.

THE annual Toybox Coin Race was held in Amersham-on-the-Hill last Saturday, when coins were laid along the pavements in Sycamore Road in aid of the street children of Guatemala, and the total raised was £1,033. Grateful thanks to all who contributed to this very worthy cause, and to our MP, Cheryl Gillan, for presenting the prizes.

GUIDED walks round Amersham Old Town take place every Sunday until the end of October. The walks start from Amersham Museum at 2.30pm.

THERE'S still time to catch a ticket for Amersham Playgoers' production Born in the Gardens, a black comedy by Peter Nichols. The play runs until Saturday, June 9, at the Drake Hall, Amersham Community Centre, commencing at 8pm.
