A SINGLE strike from Jane Clarke was enough to earn Wycombe Rye's development side a 1-0 win over Windsor 2nds in the Cressex Summer Hockey League.

Wycombe dominated the game, but Clarke's strike was the only one to find the back of the net.

Two goals from Sharon Boccaccini gave Henley a 2-1 win over Chess Valley.

Boccaccini put Henley 2-0 up before a late surge from Valley saw Clare Beasley hit home from the edge of the circle to set up a tense finish, but Henley held out.

Gerrards Cross and Maidenhead 2nds had to settle for a share of the spoils after their match finished 2-2.

Sally Buckley converted a penalty stroke to put Gerrards Cross ahead but Maidenhead hit back through Jenny Short just before the break.

Caroline Tucker put Maidenhead ahead after the break and they looked on course for a win before, with just seconds to go, Cross managed to level it when Charlene Slater buried a cross.

Wycombe-based Harlow played out a 1-1 draw with Marlow.

Marlow got the break-through when an unmarked Helen North beat the keeper with a well-controlled shot.

But as they pushed for a second, Marlow were caught on the break. Harlow's Emma Thomas raced from the half-way line before firing off a shot which earned her side a point.

Wycombe Rye's B team claimed all the points with a good 2-1 win over Henley.

Rye got off to a good start, hitting Henley twice in the opening ten minutes.

Ruth Leam's strike was deflected over the keeper's head for 1-0 before Jane Clarke blasted in number two.

Kat Rutland got one back for Henley late on.
