COMMUTER Janet Sjgren is calling for a rethink after tube bosses revamped services between Chesham and London.

Ms Sjgren, of Gladstone Road, Chesham, is disappointed after London Underground introduced a new timetable on May 20.

She says the journey time along the Metropolitan Line from Chesham to Kings Cross has been increased from 55 minutes to one hour and 11 minutes with an extra station change at Finchley Road.

Ms Sjgren, who has been using the service for more than ten years, also claims the new service includes an extra stop at Wembley Park and a five minute wait, instead of two minutes at Chalfont and Latimer station.

She says she is angry because the new London Underground timetable claims the service is "simpler" because it is able to recover from delays more quickly.

She said: "The service is not quicker, it is more than 25 per cent slower. I do not think it is a proper way to run public transport, anticipating delays."

A spokesman for London Underground said the Metropolitan Line was built more as a main line route and was therefore a special case.

She added: "I think it's a very positive thing to plan for all eventualities. Ms Sjgren is welcome to her own opinion but we really really do want to improve our services for all our customers."
