A CINEMA-GOER has warned people to be on the look-out following a number of car break-ins.

The Naphill resident visited the UCI 6 Cinema, Crest Road, High Wycombe, on Sunday to see a film only to return to a smashed window.

The woman, who does not wish to be named, said an attempt had been made to find the front of the car stereo.

She said: "I noticed plenty of other cars had been broken into that night, causing glass carnage all over the car park."

The driver went back to the cinema and spoke to a manager, asking him for the number of High Wycombe police, but claims she was told not to bother that night as she would only get an answerphone message. She said the manager told her it happens all the time.

But the motorist is unhappy at the lack of patrols round the car park and believes the cinema should be concerned at the numbers of break-ins.

"If it happens all the time, why don't they do something about it? Maybe if they used one less person selling popcorn, they could have at least one person patrolling the car park like at John Lewis."

A spokeswoman for the cinema said it was doing all it could to help police.
