GENERAL election candidates are calling on people to make sure they vote amid fears that political apathy will lead to one of the lowest ever turnouts.
In Wycombe the Conservative candidate, Paul Goodman, said: "The choice in this constituency is between Conservatives and Labour and I hope people realise that the best way to strike back against Tony Blair is to vote Conservative."
His Labour opponent, Chauhdry Shafique, said: "People must vote in the greatest numbers to ensure that whoever is elected has a mandate behind them."
In Aylesbury the Lib Dem candidate, Peter Jones, said: "We only get one chance every four years so let's make the most of it." Polling stations open at 7am on Thursday for the general and county council elections, and close at 10pm.
