TOWN councillors have welcomed district council proposals to ban drinking in public places.
But they have warned that the bylaws will need to include public parks as well as roads.
Wycombe District Council backed the byelaw banning the drinking of alcohol in certain areas on January 19.
David Allworth, Princes Risborough Town Council chairman, said members supported the byelaw and said it should be extended to include public parks and roads. He said: "There is a problem in Wades Park with young people drinking. We need to make sure it is covered by the laws."
Sgt Gordon Wilkins, the area's sector commander, also welcomed the proposal and district councillors Chris Oliver and Dennis Green. The district council is conducting a survey before going to the Home Office for approval.
