A BANK of flowers and floral tributes have been left at the scene of a lorry crash which killed two mothers.

Well-wishers, friends and family have been laying tributes outside Aitchisons Estate Agents in Easton Street, High Wycombe, where Maggie Doel and Sally Jamieson lost their lives.

Mrs Doel, 48, of Main Road, Lacey Green, and Mrs Jamieson, 40, of Wycombe Road, Stokenchurch, died when the lorry appeared to lose control in Crendon Street and crash through the shop front last Thursday afternoon.

The crash has left five children without their mothers. Mrs Doel leaves sons Gary, 22, Mark, 20 and Tim, 15, and Mrs Jamieson leaves Benjamin, four, two-year-old Joshua, and her husband Simon.

The family of Mrs Doel, who had only worked as a negotiator at Aitchisons for a week, say they have gained comfort in the flowers being laid at the scene.

Her sons and 20-year-old daughter-in-law have been greatly touched by the messages on the bouquets left by well-wishers.

A month ago the family celebrated the wedding of Mrs Doel's son Gary and his 20-year-old bride Tamsyn.

Last weekend the newly weds were staying at the family cottage in Lacey Green, with university student Mark and Tim, a pupil at John Hampden Grammar School in High Wycombe.

Mrs Doel had brought up her children alone after her accountant husband Terry was killed in a road accident in 1989.

Her sister Marilyn Wilkinson said: "She showed extreme strength of character. It was an awful challenge to manage on her own but she showed she was capable of it."

Mrs Jamieson's husband Simon described his wife as a talented, intelligent and artistic person and said: "She had so many friends due to her outgoing personality, generous nature and wonderful smile. She was taken from us in such tragic and unique circumstances and will be sadly missed by family, friends and everyone who came into contact with her." Mrs Jamieson, a customer, had not previously been in Aitchisons Estate Agents.
