A FATHER has hit out at a district council for not fixing damp and a broken window at his family home.
Helal Ahmed, of Hill Street, High Wycombe, moved to the three-bedroom council house with his wife Sahida in 1996.
He claims the property was in a state of disrepair and constant complaints to Wycombe District Council have failed to improve matters.
Mr Ahmed said: "I keep complaining to the council and they don't give a damn. I'm suffering and I just want to let them know I'm suffering."
The 37-year-old who has two young sons, aged one and nine, claims they are suffering from the conditions in the house.
He said an "icy wind" blows through the house because a window frame is loose and his elder son suffers from eczema which is not helped by damp in the property.
He added: "The room he has to sleep in is totally damp.
"I have been complaining to the council and I keep complaining to them. They have come two or three times but done nothing.
"I'm having trouble breathing because at night you get the smell of the damp."
A spokesman for the district council said: "We have received a report from the resident complaining about the windows and an inspector's visit last month confirmed that work is needed to repair four doors and a window.
"We hope to have made the repairs by the end of this week. We haven't received a complaint concerning damp walls."
