OLYMPIC hero Sir Steve Redgrave has given the Imperial Cancer Research fund an "oarsome" start to its charity auction.
Sir Steve, who lives in Marlow, and fellow Olympic rowers Matthew Pinsent, Tim Foster and James Cracknell have donated an exclusive full-size oar personally signed for the charity's Dads and Lads health campaign.
Alison Smith of Imperial Cancer Research fund, said: "Sports personalities have been keen to support us and we are delighted with the items they have been kind enough to donate."
The Dads and Lads Campaign aims to raise awareness of cancers that affect men and encourage men and their families to become more aware of the symptoms of cancers such as testicular and prostate cancer.
Bids can be placed until February 20 at www.aucland.co.uk.
