BURGLAR Ian Sutherland Leverson-Gower, who claimed he left his fingerprints at the scene of a crime when he tried to retrieve a lost frisbee, has been jailed.

Aylesbury Crown Court heard last Monday how Leverson-Gower's fingerprints were found by a window where entry had been gained to the house, in Wrensfield, Marlow, in April last year.

Jane Hurworth, prosecuting, said £3,000 of valuables including jewellery, a computer and clothing were taken during a break-in at the property.

A scenes of crime officer lifted fingerprints from inside a dining room window and they matched the defendant's.

He pleaded not guilty but was found guilty following a trial on June 29.

Leverson-Gower, 28, formerly of Sandage Road, Lane End, told the court he could have touched a window ledge when he went to look for a frisbee lost in the garden by friends.

The court heard the defendant was known to police by six aliases and had previous convictions which included burglary and in 1995 received an 18 months' jail sentence.

Sentencing, Judge David Morton Jack sent Leverson-Gower to jail for 27 months.
