TWO teenagers died in a road accident as they were returning from a night out.

Daniel Garrett, 19, of Desborough Avenue, High Wycombe, and Ross Blackburn, 19, of Penn Road, Hazlemere, were both passengers in a blue Ford Escort travelling from Hazlemere to Amersham on the A404 when the car left the road and struck a tree at Mop End.

Two other men were seriously injured in the crash which happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning. All four men worked together and are thought to have been on their way home from a birthday party when the accident happened.

Ross grew up in Middlesex where he attended Heston Community School.

He was a keen golfer and was in his second year at Amersham and Wycombe College studying business and media. He had planned on going to university next year.

Daniel, a keen footballer, had been a pupil of The Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe before going away to university in Portsmouth where he was studying Business Economics.

Deputy headteacher at the school Roy Page said: "We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear what happened. We remember him as a very friendly, outgoing young man who had a very bright future in front of him. Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time."

Daniel, who has a twin brother Robert and two sisters, was a youth member of the Union Baptist Church in Easton Street, High Wycombe, where he had also been a member of the scout group.

Graham Storer, spokesman for the church, said: "We are sad to hear of his tragic death and are praying for his family and friends."

Mr Storer spoke to members of the congregation who told him that Daniel was "well liked, very popular and full of energy and life."

All four victims of the crash were employees at McDonald's in High Wycombe.

Martyn Palumbo, franchisee of the restaurant, said: "We were shocked and devastated to learn of this tragic accident.

"Myself, my staff and managers would all like to extend our heartfelt thoughts to the families of our team members at this difficult time."

The 21-year-old driver of the car suffered face, leg and arm injuries in the crash and has been transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

The fourth victim, who was a back seat passenger, suffered a fracture to his spine and neck injuries and remains in a stable condition at Wycombe Hospital.
