PEOPLE in Bourne End will meet to test their knowledge and compete for a memorial trophy set up following the death of a popular resident.
The monthly On Target quiz has been held at Bourne End Community Centre for 33 years and this year will be the first time without quizmaster Doug Ginger who died almost a year ago.
To mark the life of the man who organised the quizzes, the community centre has established the Doug Ginger Memorial Trophy.
Now Doug's son Bob is carrying on the family tradition and is asking the questions at the event.
With his mother, Ella, he will hand over the memorial trophy to the winning team tomorrow.
Four teams will compete to be the monthly quiz champions.
One of the organisers, John Stewart, said: "Thirty-three years is a long time and it's wonderful to think that the quiz attracts such good audiences and that local groups are so keen to be there."
Many community groups and associations have in the past entered teams in the event.
Last years's winners were the community association's executive committee and they will be defending the title next year.
The quiz is at the Bourne End Community Centre in Wakeman Road, Bourne End, on Saturday. It starts at 8pm and refreshments and a bar are provided.
