TORY campaigners are claiming success after taking to the streets in support of keeping the pound.
Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan (Con) joined supporters to walk around the two towns collecting signatures last Saturday.
Richard Hill, Conservative agent for Chesham and Amersham, said the group collected more than 200 names.
He added: "We did very well and the majority of people we met were against getting rid of the pound and want to keep it."
The walkabout was staged as part of the Conservative Party's National Keep the Pound Day.
