HIGH Wycombe Cricket Club claimed a five-wicket win over Luton in their Home Counties Division One clash at London Road on Saturday.

Wycombe got off to a superb start in the field, reducing Luton to 65 for six from 35 overs, thanks to accurate bowling spells from all of the seamers.

Blair (52) and Gilson (29) provided Luton with some stability in the middle order, taking the score onto 138 before the next wicket fell.

Blair made good use of the short boundary, having three sixes into the river.

The last three Luton batsmen took the score onto 176 before their innings finished.

Good returns from the Wycombe bowlers, Adam Cole 3-41 and Jarrard Travaglia 3-51 were the result of disciplined and aggressive spells.

Wycombe's innings started slowly, but without the loss of any wickets, Kosh Guha was first out for 27 with the score on 76 from 32 overs. This left Wycombe needing 101 from 23 overs. Jamie Benning provided a much needed boost to the rate, with a quick-fire 20, supporting the ever solid Jason Harrison, who departed for a well constructed 70, leaving Wycombe needing 46 from the final nine overs.

Jarrard Travaglia continued his early innings form with a further display of powerful shots to see Wycombe home with two overs left, and finished with 40 not out from only 34 balls.
