BIG-HEARTED Bill Pollard swung into action to win a golfing championship before donating his £200 winnings to charity.
Bill, who underwent a triple heart bypass operation in 1993, beat more than 100 competitors at a business golf tournament in Leeds last month.
But Bill, manager of The Chilterns Shopping Centre, in High Wycombe, decided to give his cash prize to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
He said: "I've been playing for years but it was quite a surprise for me to actually win something. I was just there to take part."
Following his sporting win, Bill, also chairman of Wycombe and Marlow Shopmobility, has been inspired to hold his own Charity Golf Day.
He said: "People really do enjoy it as a day out and we can use the experience to raise money for Shopmobility."
The BHF is the largest single source of funds for independent heart research in the UK and spends £37.5 million on research and other projects each year.
The Shopmobility Golf Day looks set to be scheduled for September.
