MARLOW were knocked out of the Ryman League Cup for the second time this season when they went down 3-1 at St Albans on Tuesday.
The Blues were reinstated to the competition after opponents Slough fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round, but Saints, managed by former Chesham boss John Kendall, made sure their reprieve was a short one.
The Premier Division side took 38 minutes to break down second division Marlow and scored two more before James Pritchard reduced the arrears with the goal of the night.
But Marlow were much better than they were last Saturday when Luke Evans snatched an undeserved stoppage time penalty equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Cheshunt.
On Saturday, Marlow welcome Jason Bowler back from suspension for the visit of leaders Barking.
