FITNESS enthusiast Abbie Kajee raised more than £600 by pumping iron for Diabetes UK.
BodyFit Martial Arts and Fitness Centre, in Desborough Park Road, High Wycombe, took part in a national campaign to raise money for the charity which is fronted by Olympic hero Sir Steven Redgrave.
Abbie, one of the members of the gym, managed to raise a large proportion of the £1,000 total made by the gym.
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation funding research into the condition in Britain and it works to support sufferers, as well as increasing awareness of diabetes.
Members of the gym raised the money by undertaking an exercise challenge, which involved training at least three times a week over a month, while collecting sponsorship for it.
Lynn Cowley, director of the gym, said: "The whole campaign was a great success with everyone involved really feeling the benefits of regular training."
