AVID Wycombe Wanderers fans have complained about a lack of publicity after missing the Blues' open-top bus celebrations.

Tony and Diane Toller, of Hotley Bottom Lane, Prestwood, went to see Wycombe play the semi-final against Liverpool and were looking forward to the team parade.

But the first the Tollers knew of the celebrations was when they read the South Bucks Star, sister paper of the Free Press, last Thursday and discovered too late that they had missed the parade.

Mr Toller, 56, said: "I'm sure if it had had lots of publicity, it would have been the biggest turn-out Wycombe's ever seen."

He added: "The semi-final had been an absolutely fantastic day and the Blues deserved the celebration."

Wycombe District Council, which organised the reception, said all parties were keen to hold the celebration as soon as possible once the team had completed its cup run and April 12 was the only feasible date. A spokesman said publicity included editorial in the Midweek newspaper, information on elevenSEVENTY radio, posters in the town centre and information on the council and Wycombe Wanderers websites.
