FATHER-OF-TWO Jefferson Fraser has been jailed for 15 months after he indecently assaulted a woman he met on a night out.

Fraser, 37, of Nicholas Gardens, High Wycombe, was jailed for the offence at Luton Crown Court on Friday.

Fraser had pleaded not guilty to indecently assaulting his victim, aged in her 20s, last year, at his trial at Aylesbury Crown Court, where a jury took half an hour to convict him.

The victim told the jury that she, a friend and her brother had shared a taxi with Fraser after meeting him at a nightclub, which took them to her home.

She said she told Fraser he could sleep on her sofa.

The woman said she was woken from a heavy sleep in the night when she felt someone get into bed beside her and rub themselves up against her.

She lashed out and managed to get away, and as she left said she recognised the defendant.

Fraser told the jury he had no recollection of the nightclub visit or being at the woman's home but said all he could remember was feeling "somewhat rough" the day after the alleged incident because he had been drinking.

Brendon Davis, prosecuting, said DNA profiling revealed that there was a billion to one chance that Fraser was not the culprit.

After the jury gave its verdict Judge Terence Maher said the evidence against Fraser was overwhelming.

He said: "Why he chose to deny the offence one does not know."
