HOSPITAL bosses say waiting times at Wycombe Hospital will be slashed thanks to a cash boost into its Orthopaedics department.
The £85,000 will go on new equipment and an improved out patient environment.
The cash is being invested as part of the Action On scheme which will see 26 similar schemes share in a £13 million injection across the South East.
It aims to reduce waiting times and modernise healthcare in orthopaedics, dermatology and ear, nose and throat treatments. Out-patients will benefit from a larger patient friendly consultant room and waiting area with specially designed furniture for those with back and joint problems.
New equipment for keyhole surgery will improve quality of treatment and cut down on waiting times for in-patients, said a hospital spokesman.
Anna Hewett, assistant director of hospital services for surgery said: "We are delighted that the bid was successful. We will put it to good use and patients will soon be reaping the benefit."
