CHILTERN Railways says passengers will receive a five per cent reduction on season tickets because of poor train punctuality.
The company's punctuality performance has fallen below the Passenger Charter target of 90 per cent, and passengers with a monthly or longer season ticket will be eligible for the discount when they renew their tickets.
General Manager Steve Murphy said: "We are aware that speed restrictions imposed by Railtrack have caused our passengers considerable inconvenience and frustration in recent weeks.
"However, we are working closely with Railtrack to remove the majority of the speed restrictions on the Chiltern route."
