SING-A-LIKE Annie Sheppard has sung her way through TV shows to make it through to LWT's Stars In Their Eyes final.

Annie, 39, from Saunderton, will be battling it out against 'Aretha Franklin', 'Kylie Minogue' and 'Lionel Richie', as Judith Durham of the Seekers on July 14.

The mother of two boys, Sam, seven and Matthew, four, said: "Friends started asking me to sing at weddings and receptions. I have loved the programme for a long time and I've applied every year.

"The first time I applied to be Patsy Cline and I also went for Celine Dion."

More than 30,000 people applied to appear on the show this year and they had to be whittled down to 52 ten shows with five contestants each and two stand-bys.

"This was my first audition for the show and it really helped because Judith Durham had never been done before," explained Annie. "My uncle and aunt loved the Seekers so I heard a lot of them growing up.

"It was when I sung the Carnival Is Over at an event and someone said how much I sounded like her. "

The whole process from the audition to the airing of the show took a year.
