SIR Steven Redgrave was knighted by the Queen this week after becoming Britain's greatest Olympian.
Sir Steven, of Marlow Bottom, knelt before the Queen on Tuesday as she crossed his shoulders with a ceremonial sword.
He said earlier this year: "Finishing up with retirement and being knighted at the end of it is unbelievable really. You think about winning races and so on. You never really think about the honours that may be bestowed on you along the way."
