JOBSEEKERS will be able to use state-of-the-art technology to search out employment.

Chesham Jobcentre, Red Lion Street, is the first in Buckinghamshire to have installed the latest computer know-how to help people find work more quickly and easily.

Jobseekers who call at the centre are invited to use touch-screen terminals, dubbed Jobpoints, to access a large database of jobs.

The scheme is part of a national modernisation programme which will see 9,000 Jobpoints being added to sites across the country.

Martine Bantick, Chesham Jobcentre manager, said: "Jobseekers and local employers have been impressed with the Jobpoints and have found them simple and easy to use."

She added: "Staff at the Jobcentre are committed to helping people find work and invite both employed and unemployed jobseekers to come and see for themselves how easy the Jobpoints are to use."

In time the terminals will replace the traditional vacancy display boards and offer improved wheelchair access.

Drop-in at Chesham Jobcentre Monday to Thursday 9am to 4.30pm and Friday 10am to 4pm.
