A RESIDENT has written to her MP about abandoned cars after one was set alight, almost burning down her garage.
Fiona Marsden, 37, from Woodside Road, Micklefield, asked the council to remove the Austin Mini Metro which was dumped right next to her garage on January 13. She warned Wycombe District Council that if the vehicle wasn't moved it would be set alight.
On January 18, the vehicle was still blocking the garage and Mrs Marsden was proved right when vandals set the car alight that night. The next day the council finally placed a sticker on the vehicle to say it would be moved if not claimed in the next seven days.
Mrs Marsden has since written to Sir Ray Whitney MP (Wycombe, Con) and councillors about the problem. She said: "We told them there was a fire risk and they just ignored it. We were the ones who ended up suffering."
A council spokesman said: "We are concerned about the incident and will be responding to Mrs Marsden directly."
