A MAN is worried about the security of his bank after he received somebody else's mini statement from a cashpoint.

Tim Mavers, 20, of Claymoor Park, Booker, was at the Lloyds TSB cash machine, sited at Asda, Holmers Park Way, High Wycombe on July 4.

He pressed the buttons for a mini statement but when it was printed out, he was horrified to discover he also received another statement from another customer's account.

Mr Mavers, who works for an accident management company, said: "I put in my card and asked for a mini-statement but I got someone else's details as well as my own.

"There were four digits of the service card on the mini statement and the last four days of transactions."

He said: "It's a breach of security and it's going to worry an enormous amount of people."

Mr Mavers rang the Lloyds TSB phone number to inquire about the issue and spoke to his bank manager to investigate.

Mr Mavers said: "He has taken it up with the higher authorities."

But Mr Mavers also wants other customers of banks to know about the problem.

He said: "I'm taking it up with Lloyds TSB but I want people to be aware of the security risks."

Helen Thompson, spokeswoman for Lloyds TSB, said it was probably a problem with the printer that allowed another piece of paper to be dragged through.

She said: "It's extremely rare for that to happen and what we've done as a result is to ensure there is no risk for customers.

"The mini statements are all depersonalised and there's no full account number on the statement."

Ms Thompson reassured customers that no-one could find out details of someone from a mini statement.
