POLICE say windows and doors left open in the sweltering heat are making life easy for burglars.
Thieves struck at three houses in Amersham between midnight and 5am on Monday and Tuesday.
Sgt Julian Heard, of Amersham police said: "These offences really were easy pickings for these criminals and could have been avoided."
Thieves reached through a small window of a house in Hundred Acre Lane and opened a larger window before snatching a wallet from a dining room table. The same tactics were used at a house in Black Acre Close when two mobile phones and a wallet were taken. Thieves walked through an open conservatory before stealing a handbag containing cash, credit cards and documentation from a house in The Meadows. In each case the victims were upstairs asleep.
