TALENTED Sam Cundy is jetting off to Canada to represent the UK in frisbee throwing at the Dwarf Olympics.
The 2ft 4ins six-year-old from Greenway School, Chesham, leaves on Tuesday for the event after local fundraisers came up with £4,000 to allow her to take part.
She won the gold medal for frisbee throwing at a competition in Peterborough last May.
Tracey Cundy, Sam's mum, who lives in Uplands Avenue, Chesham, said everyone had been so kind helping them raise the money.
She said: "She is so thrilled to be going. She has been throwing the frisbee and we have been measuring how far it goes."
Maureen Edwards, headteacher at Sam's school, said they were delighted that Sam would be going and are certain she will do well.
She said: "She came first in her age group when she was five, but she is now in the six to eight-year-old category so it could be slightly harder for her."
She added: "I think she has been practising a lot. It is really nice she can excel at it. We are hoping we will be able to watch the competition on the television sometimes they show it on Sky.
"She is quite sporty and is keen to pursue it, and meet with other children with the same problem."
