NETWORKING and internet specialists Rednet has completed a management buy-out from its previous owners Bermuda- based RSL Communications Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The sale which was announced on May 14, means that Rednet becomes one of the largest independently-owned Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the UK with more than 4,500 small and medium-sized business customers as well as well-known names like the RAC and The Marketing Store.

Mike Revell, managing director of Rednet, said: "Becoming a privately-owned business gives us the flexibility and independence to aggressively pursue our strategy of providing market-leading solutions to the under-serviced small to medium size business market."

In September last year Rednet on the Cresssex Business Park, High Wycombe, was awarded Cisco Powered Network and Security Partner Status. Earlier this year the company launched its fifth Point of Presence (POP) in the UK and its first Virtual Data Centre.
