I REFER to your article (BFP, May 25, "Councillors object to school land sale") concerning Beaconsfield High School's proposed sale of land in order to fund the replacement of its dilapidated temporary classrooms with a modern classroom block.

I understand that access to the proposed five detached dwellings would lead off the new access road to the Berwick Woods development and that the proposed houses on the high school land could account for about 25 extra traffic movements per day.

Who in their right mind would object to such a paltry increase in traffic, when 34 houses are already in the process of being built with planning permission?

The traffic flow from the Berwick Wood's development will be about160 movements per day, excluding deliveries. And for the sake of an additional 25 movements per day hundreds of children will continue to be taught in temporary classrooms with inadequate facilities.

The mind boggles!

As a Wattleton Road resident I strongly objected to the original Berwick Woods application, but now that it's there I see no logical reason to turn down an extra five houses.

Cala Homes benefited from the Berwick Woods development and our children will benefit from this small additional development.
