FOOTBALLERS joined Wycombe Wanderers' assistant manager Terry Gibson as they gave their best shot to kick for a million at Asda stores last weekend.

But despite efforts of young and old at the Holmers Farm Way store in High Wycombe last Saturday, nobody was lucky enough to go forward to the second round.

Customers at the store were given a free shot at the goal which had football-sized holes with different prizes for each one. Top shooters could then buy Walkers or Pepsi goods in the store which allowed them to take up to five extra shots.

Vanessa Janusz, events co-ordinator for Asda, was delighted with the turn-out. "We gave away so many goody bags and key-rings to everyone who took part," she said.

"One guy's shot rattled the side of the million hole but didn't quite make it which was a pity. All in all it was a fantastic day."
