YOUNGSTERS were asked to shout out a "wish list" at a meeting aimed at solving the problems at a village trouble spot.

A basketball court, skate park and longer opening houurs at the youth club in Wakeman Road were among the suggestions that came from the 12 youngsters who attended the multi agency meeting on Tuesday.

It was the second meeting of representatives from Thames Valley Police, Bourne End Residents Association, the Community Association, Wooburn parish, Wycombe district and Bucks county councils to tackle the problems of vandalism, intimidation and litter in Wakeman Road, Bourne End.

Andy Hitchcock, area manager for the Youth and Community Service, explained about the subject of intimidation.

He said: "Groups of young people don't consider themselves to be intimidating."

Using school playgrounds for a skate park and other activities was also discussed but county and parish councillor Mike Appleyard stressed that the questions of vandalism had to be addressed.

Community police officer Barrie Feltwell told the youngsters that the reason they get thrown out of school premises is because of past vandalism.

He said: "How can you guarantee that the schools won't suffer damage?"

Mr Hitchcock announced they had employed one person to reopen the youth club and were looking to employ another.
