LIZZY Tinley has been selected for the Great Britain team to race at the Junior World Rowing Championships in Germany next month.
The 17-year-old sixth-former from Sir William Borlases School in Marlow will compete in the quadruple girls sculls at the race in Germany after impressing in trials.
Tinley overcame a virus to be selected for the boat and has spent the week at a training camp in Chester and races against the Senior Women at the National Championships in Nottingham this weekend.
After the National Championship the team will return to Chester for a few
days before moving to Dorney Lake prior to their departure for the World Championships on August 1.
Her coach, Richard Bedingfield, is now training the Great Britain Girl's Double Sculling crew which departs for France on the same day for the Coupe de la Jeunnesse at Brive
That French-bound crew includes Borlase pupil Ben Tipney who is in the Boys Quad Scull.
