FABULOUS costumes and mouth-watering cuisine will tempt everyone when the 10th Caribana Carnival comes to The Rye, High Wycombe, on Sunday.
Children have been keeping busy putting the final touches on their colourful costumes for the big day under the watchful eye of carnival co-ordinator Judy Coombes.
This year's theme of 'Global Warming' will see children dressing up in a mix of 'sun, moon and grass' costumes as they parade from The Rye in High Wycombe through the High Street and back for more fun on The Rye.
The 'Trinidad Carnival' inspired procession will pause for a minutes silence outside High Wycombe Police Station in Queen Victoria Road in honour of the late Det Sgt Bill Snelling.
"The contribution he made to Caribana is immeasurable," said Cornel Coombes, chairman of the Wycombe Carnival Development Foundation.
"He was there right from the beginning when we started out ten years ago."
There will be poetry readings by 'Spicy Fingers', singer Julie May, a fun fair and a host of Caribbean and Oriental food stands
Funds raised will go to charity. Children will meet on The Rye at 11am. The parade will begin at 1.30pm.
