CHILDREN at St Mary and All Saints C of E Combined School, in Beaconsfield, raised over £800 when they took part in a sponsored readathon. The pupils read a set number of books during the week and received sponsor money from friends and members of their families. The event took place during the Whitsun break, and the children raised money for worthwhile causes as well as improving their reading skills. A total of £832 was raised which will will go to the Roald Dahl Foundation and the Sargeant Cancer Fund for Children. Acting head Colin Le Good said he was delighted with the amount of money raised. He added: "They have done very well. Almost every child took part and they raised a magnificent total."
