A LORRY driver was forced out of his vehicle and bundled into the boot of a car before being bound and gagged by roadside robbers.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the lorry hi-jacking on the A355 near Beaconsfield just prior to Junction 2 of the M40 on the Slough side.

The seven-and-a-half tonne white lorry, carrying mobile phones and kitchen appliances, was forced to stop by two other vehicles, one of which was white, last Wednesday between 7 and 8pm.

The 32-year-old lorry driver, who is from Kent, pulled into a lay-by and one vehicle pulled in behind him while another car pulled in front of the lorry and the driver got out of his cab.

He was pushed into the boot of the second vehicle which had pulled up in front of him and was driven to a nearby, unknown location where he was bound and gagged.

The man was kept in the boot for about two hours and eventually released in Upper Icknield Way, Saunderton, where he went to a nearby house and raised the alarm.

Three men are believed to have been involved in the robbery.

A third man was driving the vehicle which pulled up in front of the lorry.

This vehicle is described as probably a hatchback or an estate.

As we went to press the lorry was still missing.

It is described as white with Fraikin Truck Hire written in blue and orange on curtains on the side.

The company name also appears on the rear door and on the top of the cab and there are metal badges on both the cab doors.
