CHEEKY Casanova Matt Denham pulled the wool over Cilla's eyes after appearing on Blind Date even though he had a girlfriend.
The 30-year-old plasterer from Chesham said he had met his girlfriend, Helen Bainbridge, about a week before the show was filmed, but neglected to tell Cilla that he was no longer single.
He added: "My dad sent off my application for a laugh. The girlfriend didn't mind, it's three or four months between when you apply and when you get on there. I didn't have a girlfriend when I applied."
Matt has had to endure a lot of mickey-taking from his mates who whistle the Blind Date theme tune to him.
He added: "I go to McDonald's and all the kids are shouting. It's just really embarrassing."
He added that he could not even escape Blind Date while out shopping: "You see people in shops and you have to tell them what Cilla was like."
But Matt, who found the show nerve-wracking, only got to see Cilla when he was on the chair.
He said: "She just comes in, does her job and shoots off."
