A TEENAGE girl was dragged into a churchyard before being pushed to the ground and indecently assaulted.

The 18-year-old girl was walking in Castle Street, High Wycombe, at around 1.25am on Friday when she was approached by a man, who was in his 30s.

He grabbed her, and dragged her into the grounds of All Saints Church, off Castle Street, before pushing her to the ground. She screamed and managed to struggle free and ran towards the town centre. Police say she was left very shaken and had an injury to her wrist where she had been pushed to the ground.

The attacker is described as white, of stocky build, with closely shaven hair with a local or cockney accent. The victim also said he could have been wearing jeans.

Police would particularly like to speak to a couple who spoke to the teenager after the incident.

The couple were in their early 20s. The man was wearing a maroon top and the woman was wearing a black vest top and had her blonde hair tied on top of her head.

Police are currently examining CCTV footage in the hope that it will help with their inquiries.

Kate Spark, police spokesman, said they would also like to speak to two men, who were wearing fluorescent jackets, and were seen getting into a white van near the church shortly before the incident. It is thought they might have seen the offender.

She added; "Incidents such as this are rare in the Chiltern Vale area. None the less we would urge women to remain extremely vigilant.".
