SIX men have been jailed and two others have been ordered to do community service after a pub brawl which spilled out onto the streets.

Sean Gallagher, 30, of Campbell Close, Downley, Darren Rance, 29, of Crendon Street, High Wycombe and Philip Ward, 38, of Priory Avenue, High Wycombe, appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court on December 21 along with five members of the group they clashed with William Day, 28, of Devonshire Close, Amersham, Warren Day, 27, of West Wycombe Road, High Wycombe, Dean Hopson, 19, of Suffolk Road, Maidenhead, Shane Hodgson, 27, formerly of Haywards Heath, Sussex, and Adam Merryweather, 26, of Whittaker Road, Slough.

All eight had admitted using or threatening unlawful violence, on March 4 in High Wycombe town centre, at earlier hearings.

Prosecuting, Kate Mallison said violence was triggered off in the Antelope pub through an initial incident between Gallagher and Merryweather before the fighting continued outside. CCTV cameras captured scenes of punching and kicking which left Ward with facial injuries and William Day lying unconscious.

Gallagher was jailed for 15 months, Ward and Merryweather got 12 months each and nine-month sentences were imposed on Rance, Warren Day and Hodgson. William Day was ordered to perform 240 hours community service and a 200 hours order was made for Hopson.

Keith Fraser, 43, of Priory Avenue, High Wycombe, and Shaun McCrudden, 31, of Colne Road, Micklefield, High Wycombe, who were originally charged with affray and pleaded not guilty, had proceedings against them stayed after legal arguments on an earlier date when Judge Tyrer ruled that because of non-disclosed evidence by the police, they could not receive a fair trial.
