A NEW action group has promised to breathe fresh life into a village by pushing the development of a community centre.

A planning application for a Lane End Community Centre could be with Wycombe District Council by the autumn according to the new Lane End Community Project Group.

The land on the site of Francis Edmonds Combined School in Edmonds Road, Lane End has been offered for the project by Buckinghamshire County Council and the project group will be pursuing this option.

Lane End Community Project Group is made up of representatives from Wycombe District Council, Bucks County Council, Lane End Parish Council and the school.

Peter Philip, chairman of the action group, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to build a new youth and community centre for the people of Lane End. We in the action group are working hard so that this can be a reality in the not too distant future."

The new building will provide rooms for all kinds of community use, including facilities for the youth club and the opportunity to develop further links between the school and the community. Flyers about the community centre and the new action group can be seen in local shops or the Post Office and there will be a stall at the Lane End Village Fete on Saturday, June 9.
