A CHARITY warehouse which sells cut price furniture to cash strapped families will close if more helpers are not found.
The warehouse run by High Wycombe's Central Aid Society, in Richardson Street West, High Wycombe, is already struggling to stay afloat but the departure of a full-time volunteer in a few weeks means closure may be imminent.
Mary Mitchell, secretary of the society, said the loss of this vital community service will see many hard up families suffer needlessly.
She said the warehouse helped families on benefits and pensioners as well as having an important recycling role.
Currently pensioner Roy Healy works five days a week collecting and delivering the furniture while other volunteers man the centre on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
"If young people could offer an hour a week it could really make a difference to the community," said Mrs Mitchell.
