BOFFINS were right on target after winning a quiz and having the honour of seeing their names etched on the Doug Ginger trophy, in memory of the late quiz-master.
After a tough struggle, the Executive Committee won the final of the On Target Quiz in 2001, repeating their victory from 2000.
Four teams met at the Community Centre in Wakeman Road, Bourne End, last Friday and battled it out to get their names on the Doug Ginger Memorial Trophy
The final presentation was tinged with sadness when everyone involved remembered that it is almost a year since the death of Doug Ginger who set the questions for most of the 33 years the quiz has been running.
Now his son Bob provides the questions and continues the Ginger tradition and he presented the new Doug Ginger Memorial Trophy to the winning team.
David Foster, from the Executive Team, admitted that he had not expected to achieve the win but was delighted with the outcome.
