WORK to repair two crumbling bridges in Wooburn is due to start next week.
The strengthening of Glory Mill Lane bridge and rebuilding of Glory Mill Race bridge will cost £200,000.
The work on Glory Mill Lane bridge is being carried out to prevent it collapsing.
Glory Mill Race bridge is currently closed after an earlier collapse of part of its road surface.
The work, carried out by Walker Construction for Buckinghamshire County Council, is due to begin on Monday and will last for 15 weeks.
The work on the two bridges will be phased to allow cars to use the bridge to get to houses in Glory Mill Lane as well as the Odyssey Leisure complex and the Taywood Homes housing development.
The council spokesman added: "Unfortunately a through route for traffic along Glory Mill Lane is not going to be possible during the construction period.
"Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times for the duration of the works."
