DISGRUNTLED Claire Parsons said a surprise limousine trip for her parent's ruby wedding celebrations ended up ruining their big day.

Mrs Parsons had treated her parents to a chauffeur driven car from Ab Fab Movie Cars, in Gerrards Cross, for their anniversary as she said her mother missed out on a 'posh' car to take her to her wedding 40 years ago.

But Mrs Parsons, of Shepherds Lane, Hazlemere, said the trip was riddled with calamities including the limousine being in collision with another car.

She said the surprise was ruined when the driver turned up at her parents' house half an hour early and claims the driver ended up being half an hour late for the anniversary meal after getting lost.

Her father Bernard Mealing from Haddon Road, Chorleywood, said they were left shocked after the accident on the motorway, last month.

"It was a shock at the time. There were glasses stacked up at the side and some of them crashed to the floor.

"The only thing he [the driver] asked was if we were prepared to give a statement and we have no recollection of him asking if we were okay."

His daughter, who had been saving up for the surprise since her parent's silver wedding anniversary 15 years ago, said of her mum: "She almost cried; she was so shocked about the accident."

Mr Mealing, 61, said the driver had to ask for directions three times.

"He asked on three occasions where the venue was. If they had said sorry, please accept our full apologies, we wouldn't be so upset."

Tim Thompson, manager of Ab Fab, said: "We had an accident with her parents and they didn't even go to hospital. They were asked and they just wanted to get to their do.

"They got a very good service. She had a letter of apology."
