A GROUP of pensioners rallied round to help a school after vandals broke into it and destroyed furniture, leaving a trail of urine and human excrement.
Members of Age Concern were so sickened by the attack at Holy Trinity School in Marlow that they organised a collection to help out.
David Cousins, headteacher at the Wethered Road school, said: "We are very humbled that Age Concern should think of us. The people of Marlow have been super over the incident. Staff and I have been stopped in the street by people who have heard of the school's problems to wish us well."
The senior citizens, based at Glade Road, raised £93 which will be used for something permanent like books for the library.
Mr Cousins added: "It is gratifying to think something good should come from such a sad event."
Witnesses to the break-in in the early evening of July 8 should call Marlow police on 01494 465888.
