HAZLEMERE Women's Institute is holding a jumble sale at the Royal British Legion Hall, Hazlemere Cross Roads on Saturday, May 19. The event runs from 10am until midday, 20p admission.

HAZLEMERE Parish Council held its AGM last Tuesday. The current chairman Robert Bate stood down after three years and the new chairman voted in was CIIr David Cox. The vice-chairman is Trevor Fazackerly. The councillors carry out much good work for the area, and they really need our support.

The various committees were decided: Planning CIIrs J Sugg, C Long, W McLeod, R Bate and CIIr Shaw; Open space CIIrs Long, Taylor, McLeod, Jennings and Weaver; Finance CIIr Taylor, Jennings, Shaw, Sugg, Bate and Middle.

THE entertainment committee of Hazlemere Community Centre has arranged a horse race with a difference for Friday night. It is called in the business a Human Toteotopoly. I'm not giving you any more clues, but it is funny and entertaining.

The bar is open on Cup Final Day on Saturday. Why not come along? Mick Miller and chairman Jenny Dean will make you most welcome and you can watch the match on the new big television screen.

On Saturday, May 28 they are holding a bingo session in the bar starting at 8pm. On Friday, June 2 in the main hall they are holding a Cliff n Elvis evening.

WYCOMBE & District Crib League is holding its presentation evening at the Hazlemere Community Centre on Saturday, May 19 starting at 8pm. Dancing will be to Ward 4 and supper will be included. Tickets are £6 and are on sale at the centre or you can phone (01494) 815180 during office hours and speak to Judy or Elaine. The league is looking for new teams to join them next season.

HAZLEMERE Gardening Association has lots of gardening produce on sale at Cedar Barn. Parish councillor Les Taylor asks me to encourage all you gardeners to come along and see for yourself the composts, seeds, bulbs, and other gardening requirements all at competitive prices.

You are also encouraged to join the gardening association when you will then be entitled to even keener prices. The Garden Sale shop is open on Sunday mornings from 10am at Cedar Barn, Cedar Avenue, Hazlemere.
