LLOYDS TSB made a sudden U-turn this week, renewing its membership with the Marlow Chamber of Trade and Commerce after cancelling it earlier this year.
The bank refused to say why it cancelled the subscription in January, commenting that it had "reviewed the situation and decided not to renew membership".
However a spokesman for the High Street bank said this week: "We fully support trade organisations. The Marlow Chamber of Trade is an important part of the local community and performs a valuable function. We are pleased to renew our membership."
Chamber members were both surprised and upset when the bank cancelled its membership, ending a long history with the group.
Ted Brown, membership secretary, said he had spoken to a senior area manager and convinced him that it was beneficial for the bank to rejoin the group.
He added: "We are delighted to have them back on board."
